About Me

Hello World! … I’m Sophie Yardley.

I’m in my early thirties, living in Birmingham UK (where I was born). I did live in Aberystwyth (Wales), for three years from 2007 – 2010, at University, that was fun… those were the days. Now I live with my boyfriend Dom, we’ve been together for nearly four years, (my longest relationship to date – proud! Can you tell? He’s definitely ‘The One’). He’s doing a PhD, while I work as an employment coach for a charity.

I’ve had quite an eventful life (so far)… I’d quite like the next few years to be a bit smoother to be honest. My family situation growing up was complicated, to say the least, and I have a mouthful of diagnosed mental health conditions – the primary one being borderline personality disorder (BPD), and adult ADHD being the latest addition. I’m on a cocktail of medications, including a monthly depot injection, all in an attempt to control my quick temper and rapid mood swings. As you can imagine – trying to function like a (quote-unquote) ‘normal person’ with a job and a relationship etc. proves quite difficult.

This blog is me writing though my thoughts and feelings on anything and everything in order to reflect, understand and possibly even adjust as I work myself out. So bear with…
